❄️ Helping out a neighbor and learning the joy of kindness!
Watch how Shawn turns a snowy day into a heartwarming adventure.
Let’s Learn Kindness (Part 5)
Kindness means being a really good friend who listens carefully when someone is sad or having a hard time
Kindness is also like sharing your toys or snacks with someone who doesn't have them
How You Can Be Kind
At home, you can show kindness by helping out with chores, like setting the table without being asked or helping a younger sibling clean up their toys

If someone does something nice for you, like a teacher spending extra time to help you understand your homework or a friend giving you a gift, writing a little thank you note is a kind way to show your appreciation

Tip For The Parents
Set Clear Expectations: Communicate your expectations for kind behavior clearly and consistently. Discuss the reasons behind these expectations and the positive impact kindness has on both the giver and the receiver.
❄️ Helping out a neighbor and learning the joy of kindness!
One crisp winter morning, Shawn looked out his window and saw a thick blanket of snow covering everything in sight. The trees were frosted with white, and the houses looked like they were topped with fluffy marshmallows. But what caught Shawn's attention the most was his neighbor, Mr. Jenkins, trying to shovel his driveway. Mr. Jenkins was very old, and the heavy snow seemed like a big challenge for him.

Shawn remembered how Mr. Jenkins always waved at him with a warm smile whenever he walked by. 'Maybe I can help him,' Shawn thought. Without a second thought, he put on his warmest coat, gloves, and boots, grabbed his shovel, and stepped out into the cold.

As he approached Mr. Jenkins' driveway, Shawn called out, 'Good morning, Mr. Jenkins! Can I help you with the snow?' Mr. Jenkins looked up, surprised and relieved. 'Oh, Shawn! That would be wonderful. Thank you, my boy,' he replied, his face lighting up with a grateful smile.

Together, they worked side by side, shoveling the snow. Shawn noticed how much faster the work went with two people. They talked and laughed, and Shawn learned that Mr. Jenkins had been a teacher before he retired. Time flew by, and before they knew it, the driveway was clear. 'Thank you, Shawn. You've been a great help,' Mr. Jenkins said, patting Shawn on the back. 'You're a very kind young man.'

As Shawn walked back to his house, he felt a warm glow inside him. He had not only helped clear the snow but had also made a friend and learned the joy of helping others. That day, Shawn learned that even the smallest acts of kindness could make a big difference. And so, the first snowfall of the season brought not just cold and snow, but a lesson in kindness that Shawn would remember forever.
